Dr. Bishnu P. Marasini (Microbiology, Drug Discovery, Bioassay, Computational Biology, Medicinal Plants)
Dr Marasini started his research career at Kathmandu Model Hospital, Patan Hospital and later at Nepal Academy of Science and Technology (NAST). He did MS and PhD in M. Medicine, and postdoctoral work focusing research in Drug discovery and has several publications and a patent.
He served as Head at Department of Biotechnology in National College of Tribhuvan University, Kathmandu, Nepal. He is one of the pioneers in the development of bio-assay systems/ lab as well as computational biology, particularly enzyme-inhibitor docking study in Nepal. He is the recipient of TWAS-UNESCO award and was honored/awarded by the honorable prime minister of Nepal as well as honorable president of Nepal. He also got a health research award from Nepal Health Research Council (NHRC).
Currently, as a senior research officer at NHRC, he focuses on medical sociology in infectious diseases..
